OSC Announces Small and Medium Enterprises Committee Members

TORONTO – The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) announced today the new membership of its Small and Medium Enterprises Committee (SMEC).

The purpose of the SMEC is to advise OSC staff on matters related to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), including the development of policies and practices to address issues affecting SMEs. SMEC members will also be asked to provide input on regulatory approaches to capital raising in the exempt market, including the development of the OSC’s enhanced compliance program and the impact of new prospectus exemptions on SMEs. OSC staff recognize the contribution of SMEs, including both private companies and venture issuers, to economic growth and job creation in Ontario.

The SMEC will meet approximately four times per year with members serving a one-year term. Effective immediately, the members are:
