In its HR strategy, the OSC works to ensure it has the right staff at the right time to achieve its mandate and goals. Human Resources focuses on developing and implementing strategies for key employee-related priorities. These include recruitment, retention, compensation and succession planning.

OSC staff have a broad range of skills, expertise and education. The professional profile of the OSC includes securities lawyers, litigation counsel, accountants, geologists, IT specialists, analysts, communications specialists and economists. This diversity within the OSC’s workforce reflects the range of the OSC’s regulatory functions and responsibilities.

HR staff partner with OSC managers and directors to foster effective employee relations and employee development. They also develop and implement employee training programs and administer payroll, employee benefits and pension programs.

Organizational efficiency plays a fundamental role in the OSC’s effectiveness as a regulator. Human Resources plays an integral role in supporting the OSC as a flexible, efficient and accountable organization.
