About the OSC
Communications & Public Affairs
The Communications & Public Affairs Branch works to support and strengthen the OSC’s reputation as an effective and responsive securities regulator. The Branch carries out this role by facilitating communications with stakeholders in a proactive, consistent and transparent manner.
Branch staff provide strategic communications advice to the Chair, Vice-Chairs, Commissioners, the Executive Director and the OSC’s Executive Management Team. Specific responsibilities include media relations, executive speeches, publications such as the organization’s Annual Report and Perspectives newsletter, investor communications, the OSC website and special events.
The Branch communicates regulatory and investor education messages to the public through consultation, publications and media. Branch staff also work with other regulators to co-ordinate and promote investor education initiatives across Canada and North America.
The OSC has made it a priority to communicate effectively with all of its stakeholders. The Communications & Public Affairs Branch supports and facilitates timely and effective communications, so that all stakeholders may be kept informed of OSC priorities, policies and actions.
