About the OSC
Consultation
Effective communications with those who are affected by regulation is an important part of the regulatory process. The OSC consults regularly with its stakeholders to gather their input on various securities regulation issues. Consultations are conducted in various ways, including requests for comment, external conferences, meetings related to policy development, and formal and informal committees.
The OSC has several consultative committees:
Continuous Disclosure Advisory Committee
Market Structure Advisory Committee
Mining Technical Advisory and Monitoring Committee
Registration Advisory Committee
Securities Advisory Committee
Small Business Advisory Committee
Investment Funds Product Advisory Committee
The OSC has established an Investor Advisory Panel that will provide comments in response to public requests for comment by the Commission on proposed rules, policies, concept papers and discussion drafts. The Panel will also provide commentary on the OSC’s proposed annual Statement of Priorities and will consider specific issues at the request of the Commission.
