Comment period closed on point-of-sale proposals for mutual funds

October 22, 2009 - On October 17, 2009, the comment period closed on proposed amendments to National Instrument 81-101 Mutual Fund Prospectus Disclosure, its Forms and Companion Policy, as well as related amendments, aimed at providing investors with improved mutual fund disclosure.

Central to the proposal is a new two-page document called Fund Facts, which highlights key information for investors, including fund performance, risks and the costs of buying and owning a fund. Fund Facts will be given to investors when they buy a mutual fund for the first time.

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) will review and consider all comments received. Click here to read more about the proposals and view the comment letters.
